Whether you are coming from near or far, you should have no trouble finding us.

Evanston, Illinois, is the first community north of Chicago along Lake Michigan's beautiful shoreline. Our shopping district is situated at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Dempster Street--two of the area's major thoroughfares. (See maps below.)

We're just a few blocks south of downtown Evanston, within walking distance of both the Orrington Hotel and the Best Western.

How to get to us:

By car:
We are accessible from the North Shore and Chicago via Sheridan Road, which runs along Lake Michigan. From Chicago, you can also take Clark Street north, which becomes Chicago Avenue as you cross the Evanston line at Howard Street.

Another option is the Edens Expressway (94), located about 3.5 miles west of us. Take the Dempster Street exit and go east on Dempster.

There is also a Dempster Street exit off of the 294 Tri-State Tollway but coming from the south only. Coming from the north on 294, take the Golf Road exit. Turn left at the traffic light and left again onto Golf. Take Golf to Waukegan Avenue and turn right. Take Waukegan to Dempster Street and turn left. Follow Dempster all the way to Evanston.

In our neighborhood, metered parking is available in the two marked lots (See maps below) and also on the street.

By train:
The CTA train, known locally as the "El," stops right in our neighborhood. The stop is on the Purple Line and is labeled Dempster Street. The station entrance is on Sherman Place, a quarter of a block north of Dempster. For more information, call 312-836-7000 or look for schedule and route information for the Purple Line (Linden-Loop) on the CTA's Web site. (The Purple Line runs express to and from downtown Chicago during rush hour on weekdays. At all other times, Evanston riders must transfer at Howard Street to the Red Line, which runs between Howard and downtown Chicago.)

The Metra train is also convenient -- it stops four blocks south of us at Main Street and five blocks north of us at Davis Street in downtown Evanston. (See maps below). From the Main stop, walk east to Chicago Avenue and follow Chicago north to Dempster. From the Davis stop, walk east on Davis one block and then south on Sherman Avenue four blocks. For more information, call 312-836-7000 or go to the Metra Web site. Look for schedule and route information for the Union Pacific/North Line, which stops in Evanston.

By bus:
The 205 CTA bus, which runs between the Howard Street CTA train station and Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, lets off right on the corner of Chicago and Dempster. The 205 bus stops in downtown Evanston as well. Visit the CTA's Web site or call 312-836-7000 for a schedule.
